Malware may have been a contributory cause of a fatal Spanair crash that killed 154 people two years ago.
Spanair flight number JK 5022 crashed with 172 on board moments after taking off from Madrid's Barajas Airport on a scheduled flight to Las Palmas on 20 August 2008. Just 18 survived the crash and subsequent fire aboard the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft.
The airline's central computer which registered technical problems on planes was infected by Trojans at the time of the fatal crash...

Access control-related technology has become a top growth area for many security solution providers, in large part due to an expanding number of privacy laws and the increasing popularity of new mobile devices like the iPad.
And that trend is only growing, according to the results of a SearchSecurityChannel.com survey of several dozen information security systems integrators, solution providers, consultants and other security channel professionals conducted in the first quarter of 2010. Half of the respondents claimed that access control tools -- including technologies like network access control (NAC) and two-factor authentication -- will be the most important products for their businesses this year.
